Good Girls – Chris Cab Song review

From his 2011 debut EP: Foreword

Fun fact!
E.P. Means Extended Play. It’s for amateur singer/band who’s yet unsigned by a record company who will produces the Album out in the market.

It sounded like one of those hang out moment with the dudes and he’s giving an advice based on his experience. Imagine hearing an advice from a person you know who’s such a stud and yet knows what he have lost. Hey being vulnerable doesn’t hurt.
Good girls.  The definition always ranges from physical, character wise, breeding, family background, wit, money and other standards. I think there is a rare subscription in the classic adage: “There’s more to inside than out.” I think I am one of those, looks do come and go but it is the character that stays.
It’s like a wakeup call when you think you’ve moved on and getting yourself out there and living your life to the fullest but matter of fact, there is still a part of you who wishes you’re spending all of You with that person.
If you have THAT girl, be grateful cuz indeed.. “Good girls don’t grow on trees”. Now if you happen to “used-to-have-one-before” well be thankful still, for a wonderful love is never a waste.
Weather He/She is the one that got away, Don’t forget the person I say. Forget that he/she is not that person anymore. Live with it and learn your lesson. Cling to the hope that you can a true love the second time around.

About the music
The song is an acoustic with a twist of modern pump making that turns it to be an easy listening music. The type of song you wanna chill with in a slow day.

About Chris Cab

Here’s the music video and lyrics below:

Hey man, I’ve learned my lesson
Got a good girl, count your blessings
Instead of spending them up on sex
And good girls don’t grow on trees
I was out in the world just messin’
With the bad girls, getting refreshed and
Got a call from my girl
Just left saying good girls don’t grow on trees

I felt like it was yesterday,
The times we had that went away
We’re still young, but of course we felt a lot
Now I’ve been living like a villain that’s been shot
I met her through a friend of mine,
Who told me that this girl was fine.
I picked her up and I started to figure out
There’s more on the inside than on the out

Hey man, I’ve learned my lesson
Got a good girl, count your blessings
Instead of spending them up on sex
And good girls don’t grow on trees
I was out in the world just messin’
With the bad girls, getting refreshed and
Got a call from my girl
Just left saying good girls don’t grow on trees

She helped me get my world in tact
She had my heart, I told her that
Now it hurts every time I think about
The very night that I started with acting out
The morning brought a painful sun
Knowing now just what I’ve done
She always was the better half for sure
The part of me in life that I preferred

Hey man, I’ve learned my lesson
Got a good girl, count your blessings
Instead of spending them up on sex
And good girls don’t grow on trees
I was out in the world just messin’
With the bad girls, getting refreshed and
Got a call from my girl
Just left saying good girls don’t grow on trees

She said don’t bother me (hey, hey)
She told me that I have to leave
I wanted her just to believe
I gave her all of me (hey, hey)
Knew it tore her up inside
But we still kept the love alive

Hey man, I’ve learned my lesson
Got a good girl, count your blessings
Instead of spending them up on sex
And good girls don’t grow on trees
I was out in the world just messin’
With the bad girls, getting refreshed and
Got a call from my girl
Just left saying good girls don’t grow on trees
